April 22
Eigen 3 months old
Growing way too fast.
Mid April was Spring Break. The boys had a full week off of school. We went on an overnight trip to a far away place….Salt Lake City!!! It was an adventure. I loved the short drive and the exclaiming of joy when we were there after a mere 30 minutes in the car.
First stop, Gateway Discovery Museum. Very busy that day, but we had good connections (Love ya Breezy) and got in without waiting in the long long line. The kids loved all the hands on.
The kids absolute favorite was staying in a hotel; we had the swimming pool and hot tub to ourselves! Not to mention the continental breakfast in the morning. Sterling only fell out of bed once ![]()
We went to Temple Square on a quiet Friday morning. We visited with sister missionaries, enjoyed the fountains and flowers, walked around the temple (trying to stay out of wedding photos), and then ate lunch at the Nauvoo Cafe.
It was a fun vacation. We tried new things, saw new places and spent time together as a family!
March 8 Logan’s first grade play “King Bidgood’s in the Bathtub”
March 11 Craft day with sisters. We made bread dough…yummy lunch!
March 12 Eigen 7 weeks and learning to eat his hands.
March 14 The boys had the day off of school. We went to the Carl Bloch exhibit at BYU and the Bean Museum. The kids loved the museum. Grandma and Grandpa Rowbury, Rachel Rice and boys, and Annette’s boys joined in the adventure.
March 25 Kimball’s 5th grade music program. Bridget, Eigen, and I watched the daytime performance. Sterling chose to stay home with Ammon working…he really missed his mommy, he was so sad.
Eigen Loves the swing. He also has a big happy smile that melts my heart.
March 27 Happy Anniversary! We had a busy Sunday
So romantic. We had an evening out on Saturday!
March 31 Preschool field trip to the fire station. Fun times.

Don’t blink. It is hard to believe Eigen is already 2 months old. He is a precious baby, growing way too fast. Most days he is not a great napper, but he does sleep great at night. Usually goes down around 10, wakes up once between 4 or 5 and sleeps until 8! I love that he sleeps at night. I do have to wonder why I feel sleep deprived, because he is doing so well.
Stats from his doctor visit April 1st:
Length 24 1/2 inches (75%), Weight 13 lbs 7.5 oz (90%), and Head circumference 40.2 cm (50%).
He is our big strong boy. Love his smiles and coo’s.
Eigen is generally a happy baby. He does love to be held, especially by mom, and he is content. After the doctor visit and SHOTS, Eigen was a very sad boy. Real tears, painful cry, so sad for about 6 hours! Wow. I am so glad he slept well and is doing better.
Bridget is loving having a new baby in the house. She is so willing to help with Eigen. She is a sweet little mother figure, always wanting to hold her brother.
She loves to rock-a-bye with Eigen, she tried playing “crazy 8’s” with him, and dressing him up. She thinks it is funny and “tickles” when he tries to eat her arm. One day she said in a soft and sincere voice, “I wanted a baby sister, but it’s ok, I love Eigen.” Too precious.
Funny Bridget saying:
She loves kiwi’s, but she usually can’t remember what they are called, so she calls them “kili” or “bikini”
“mom, can you peal this bikini?” Hahahaha
Love my helpers, they are great kids.
Does Eigen look bigger? Is he growing? I have been wondering if he is getting enough to eat…no need to worry or even wonder…Eigen is growing. 2 week doctor visit: weight 8 lbs 7 oz (that is over 1/2 lb more than his birth weight) and height: 21 inches long.
Eigen is a mellow baby most of the time, but when he decides he is hungry he wants to eat NOW! He really was not pleased with the doctor checking him, he wanted to eat.
Most nights he is sleeping a 5 hour stretch, I hope he keeps up the trend. We are all healthy again. So thankful Eigen stayed healthy through everyone’s fevers, dry throats and other random illness over the last few weeks. We are blessed.
Eigen enjoyed the hospital. He just slept and slept. No time to eat. One nurse commented that he was in denial about being born. Never fear, once we arrived home Eigen joined the awake world and spent most of Sunday night awake and starving! Must Eat! The kids were the first visitors at the hospital and quite a fun lively crew. What a great family we have.
Eigen Charles Diether born Saturday 22 January 2011
7 lbs 14 oz, 19 1/2 inches, 11:38 am
We were at the hospital just over 4 hours when he was born.
It was a very snowy day today. The kids did play in the snow this morning, but for the most part we stayed inside, did not go anywhere. In the late afternoon I got everyone in the car and we went to deliver some bread bears to neighbors for a Christmas treat. It was shortly after 5pm when we got home, everyone was hungry, so we were starting dinner when Bridget begins to cry frantically from the bedroom, “I’m bleeding.” Ammon is wiping the blood from her hand and then there is no cut…he says “where is the blood?” Well, turns out Bridget has a nasty gash on her chin. Should we try to glue it, butterfly bandage, or does it really need to see the doctor?
Bridget is screaming and throwing a major tantrum that she is not going to the doc, but we think it best. Thankfully the doctors office has after hours clinic and they do stitches. She got numbing gel applied for about 20 minutes and then the doc was able to stitch the wound closed, approximately 8 stitches. Bridget was a brave girl. I think the pain must have been extreme, because once the numbing took effect she was very calm.
Exciting times right before Christmas and her 5th birthday next week. She is the first of all the kids to need stitches.
We enjoyed many halloween parties. The kids loved dressing up. The boys varied costumes, but Bridget always was in her pink to the toes dress. She was a butterfly fairy, a princess, or whatever she wanted to be at the moment! Sterling was Bob the builder, and I wish you could hear him sing the theme song. He is a cute little singer!
