Wild Hearts

Funny story! Last night we had a family movie night. We tried to show the kids Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken. Kimball and Calvin lasted 30 minutes and were dying to leave…Logan insisted on watching…and Bridget got to go to bed. Well, in the end the boys couldn’t stay away and they kept coming and checking on the movie.

This morning, Logan and Bridget got out the stick horses and set up a course around the living room pretending to ride diving horses as they jumped off the reclined lazy boy. What imagination and some very silly kids.

The faces of Sterling

Just wanted to share some pictures. It has been a great first week with our little baby boy!

Sterling’s first bath was not very fun, so we made it short and sweet!

I finally caught a smile on camera! Sterling was very awake this morning!

The kids adore him. Bridget and Logan love to check on Sterling whenever he is sleeping!

I remembered new babies go through lots of diapers, but I can’t believe how many diapers and clothes we have changed. The dinosaur onesie was the 4th change and it wasn’t even noon! He is super at doing his 3 jobs: eating, sleeping, and pooping!

Baby is Born

Just admitted to the hospital at 5:30 am, dialated to a 5 and 1/2.
Just admitted to the hospital at 5:30, dialated to a 5 1/2.
She was almost to a seven when we got her to a room, so we decided on a spinal tap as opposed to an epidural.

Good decision on that last one because the doctor came in to break Kathy’s water and she was at an 8 1/2. As he broke the water she went instantly to complete. 2 pushes and out came the baby at 6:25 am.

8 lbs 7 ounces 19 1/2 inches long. Still needs a name

Laura(sister-in-law to both of us) was our nurse and was very helpful

Mother, baby, and father doing well.

He got his bath and is very sleepy.

Kimball’s Birthday Week

Kimball had a birthday celebration all week! Today he turned 8 years old! Today is also my due date…so I was unsure about planning a party, but Kimball wanted a Jedi party with his neighborhood friends.

On Monday we celebrated with the Rowbury cousins.

On Tuesday I took the kids to “Kangaroo Zoo.” A large warehouse room filled with bouncy toys and large slides! They ran and had a great time!

Friday we braved the Jedi party! We took invitations around Thursday night. We had lightsaber battles, pin the lightsaber on Yoda, pass the Deathstar (balloon) to music and then destroy the deathstar, and other games. It was a wild fun time.

And finally today, we went to the city parade and let Kimball open presents from the family.

Happy Birthday Kimball. Side note: as I write, Ammon and I are timing contractions! There is hope of having this baby soon!

Celebrate Freedom

We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. Spending time with family is the best. We sure love when company comes to visit. The festivities started with Justin and Grandma Diether arriving Wednesday evening. Thank you to all for making our weekend exciting and fun!

The kids favorite activities with their favorite Uncle Justin included wrestling, babies, and diablo.

Grandma and Grandpa Diether, Breezy, Chan, Driel, Evan and Moriah came for the 4th of July. Going out to dinner at Thai Village was delicious and then we enjoyed a small fireworks display. FYI the favorite were parachutes, the “Mach III,” and the glow sticks at the end!

Bridget enjoying mints from Grandma!

Saturday July 5th was an exciting trip to the lake. We had water skiing, hot dogging, swimming, walking the low river, trampoline on land, nice breeze in the shade, and a picnic lunch. The activities and family group made for an excellent day at the lake. (Sorry I forgot my camera, no pictures from me!)
