Four Months Old

Sterling is 4 months old.  He seems huge to us…and yet he is in the 25th percentile.  He saw the pediatrician on Friday, poor baby got shots and had a cold, he was miserable.  He now weighs 13 lbs 10 oz. and is 24 3/4 inches tall!

Thursday I had sisters over for lunch…thanks to all who came and finished putting the food together.  It was a fun time.  Laura and Heidi were taking the pictures and JulieAnn had to go back to work, otherwise this was our lunch bunch.

The Big Move

So…this weekend was the big switch of the bedrooms.  We moved the kids around…and there is still plenty to do, but for the most part, it is wonderful!  Kimball and Calvin moved downstairs,  Logan and Bridget are sharing a room, and Sterling is in his own room.  He is still in the bassanet and the crib is yet to come, but he slept really well into the morning without the early riser distractions.  Kimball said it was hard to go to sleep because it was COLD in the basement.  Calvin has been checking the clock, waiting for bedtime.  It was an exciting day of moving beds.  Calvin and Logan loved helping Ammon take apart the bunk beds and carry them downstairs.  I’ll get pictures when we decorate a bit…or as Calvin says “make the walls a little more exciting.”

And there is more moving going on around here…Sterling has discovered rolling from his back to his tummy.  The end result is not always joyous, but he can roll a little now!  Last week he started throwing his legs in the air and moving in a circle with his head being the pivoting point.  Now it is more controlled movement and hard work, but he rolls over!

Shining Stars

Today was the primary program.  It was really a good church meeting.  I wish I had pictures and/or video of some classic moments, but alas, you get my written description :)

Logan is a Sunbeam.  He had two speaking parts that were with the entire class…you could almost hear the group and sort of understand.  Kimball spoke about baptism.  He did a great job, even looked up a few times!  Calvin was the loudest of all the primary kids, speaking right into the mic.

This is my favorite.  I almost burst out laughing, the primary kids were singing I Love To See The Temple, it came to the 2nd verse and Calvin nailed the words loud and strong (still singing, not obnoxious) and he was the only voice who said the right words…well the chorister winked at him because he was right on and what does Calvin do?  He winks back at her…and winks and winks and winks, alternating eyes etc. it was quite the entertainment.

There was a new song “If The Savior Stood Beside Me,” I really liked it.  The kids sang the first two verses and then a father sang the third verse to the kids, it was really beautiful.  It brought tears to my eyes.  Watching my kids is a treasure.  They did great!

Halloween

The carving pumpkins, choosing costumes, halloween parties at school and trick or treating have come and gone.  It was a fun week for the kids.  We enjoyed unseasonably warm weather and the rain even waited until after the Trunk or Treat party!  We hope you had a “sweet” halloween too!

Obi Wan, teddy bear, pumpkin, dragon and ninja ready to trick or treat.

Home sweet home after the fun!

Driel, Evan, Moriah, and Breezy joined in trunk or treat fun.
