Faces of Sterling

Sterling is 15 months old.  He is below 3% on the charts for his height and weight and his head circumference is close to 50%.  He has some great facial expressions…and he is a determined little guy.

walk-a-thon

Oct 9th was the school walk-a-thon.  Calvin’s class walked in the morning and Kimball and Logan walked in the afternoon.  Bridget and I got to watch both hours of fun!

The laps were small (9 laps per mile)  The kids ran and walked for a whole hour.  Calvin and Logan were champs and went almost 3 miles.  Kimball ran a lot and went over 3 1/2 miles…then we got to pay donations for all those laps!  :)

We are really big on exercise right now.  Ammon bought a pull up bar.  Calvin and Logan love to do pull ups everyday.  Logan generally will do 2 or 3 and then drop to the ground and start push ups…they are strong boys.

Calvin’s Birthday

Due to computer troubles…it has been a while since I blogged…but never fear fun times have been happening!

Calvin turned 7!  He is a fun adventurous boy.  Enjoy the silly faces, that is his signature photo face as of late :)

we had fun making a jack-o-lantern brownie cake!

Sterling got a bit sticky eating cake and ice cream…so he got to tryout going shirtless.

Happy birthday Calvin.

Backyard Campout

Ammon and the boys camped out last Friday night in the backyard.  It was there very own fathers and sons!  The boys were quite excited.  Logan really got into setting up the tent, Calvin helped some, Bridget got sad because she wanted to sleep in the tent, and Sterling simply loved being outside all evening!  Kimball couldn’t sleep, so he ended up in his own comfy warm bed in the house.

Preschool Pals

Bridget is enjoying preschool.  I did not know if she would go willingly, but she has had no trouble.  She is younger than the other girls, but they get along and play well together.

Three blond beauties and Logan on the first day of preschool, 15 September!

Beef Stew and Green Beans

We are canning, ever canning…can not wait to be done :)  Did I just say that?  So, we have slowed down a bit.  I need to do another batch of green beans and I do want to make applesauce  (the season of apples is soon).  Look how yummy, dinner is served!

First day of School

School started on Thursday.  Kimball and Calvin are all ready to go!  Logan will start next week in Kindergarton.  I can’t believe summer is already gone.

This year the 3 boys plus a few neighbors all have the same school time…so the kids are walking home from school.  Fantastic!

Self Portraits

The kids were riding bikes and playing outside.  I was working on cleaning up debris from the tree being cut down.  Calvin and Bridget both wanted to take lots of pictures…here are their self portraits.

Dino Museum

I finally took the kids to the dinosaur museum.  It was one of the fun things to do this summer, well two days before school started we went (with a million other people) on a $2 Tuesday at Thanksgiving Point.  We had lots of fun…even if we had to wait in line, much to Kimball’s disgust, for 25 minutes to get in.  We sure enjoyed having Driel, Moriah, and Fiona join us.

The kids favorite parts included lots of sand:  the erosion table and the dino dig!

Waiting for the museum to let us in!  Sterling puts on this new squinty face to show both happy or frustrated.  He was actually quite happy being outside, he did not mind the wait.

Sterling attempts walking in the sand.  He loved playing in the dino dig site.  He has been walking for about 10 days.  He still chooses to crawl most of the time, but each day gets a bit more daring.  He also can suddenly climb onto chairs and is manuevering down the outside stairs.  He is so proud of walking that sometimes he falls because he gets too excited.  Exciting times.

Soccer

Calvin started soccer.  He has played two games…and won both.  The first game was 3/4 over and ended due to rain, oh boy was it raining.

Here is our soccer son!
